Follow The Plan

2014 has brought some health challenges for me, which, admittedly, can be wearying.  I'm thankful for God's enabling grace that has carried me through this trying time.  I asked the Lord for a plan to help me be successful going forward with my health because everything else depends on it. In order for me to fulfill my destiny in the earth and his plan for my life, my health has to be its best.
The Lord's reply to me was Joshua 1:8

Joshua 1:8King James Version (KJV)

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

It Shall Come To Pass

Hezekiah Walker's "It Shall Come To Pass" has been in my spirit for the last few days. Every word that God has spoken to us is coming to pass. It may be that a lot of time has passed, but the test of faith is to stand on the Word of God. If God said it, He will bring it to pass. The enemy's job is to send distractions, delays, and disappointments our way to discourage us in our waiting.

We must continue to believe what God has said and to declare openly, that no matter what it looks like or how long it's been, it shall come to pass. We have to realize that it must be close. What other reason would there be for the enemy to try so hard to make us give up on seeing God's word manifest? We have to be like that blessed man in Psalm 1,who's like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season.

Yes, we have a season. Right now, we may be in our night season, the test or the trial. But if we persevere and stand on the promises of God, then our due season will come. He'll turn our mourning into dancing. We'll go from mourning to morning where the psalmist says, "Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning."

Psalm 66:12

"Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou brought us out into a wealthy place."(KJV)

I've got the victory through Jesus Christ and you can have it, too.

Standing on the Promises of God

February 1, 2013

II Pet. 3:9

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (KJV)

I feel such gratitude when I think of the grace and mercy of God. He loves us so much that he has delayed his coming so that those that are lost have a chance to become a part of the blessed family of believers and those of us that are walking with him have a chance to get it right when we miss the mark. We can miss it in so many ways. It doesn't have to be the major missteps on which most believers focus but rather the little things, the weights that can so easily beset us.

I'm thankful that I'm taking inventory of my shortcomings, weaknesses, failings and am making a conscious effort to make my calling and election sure. I daily ask the Lord to bless me and make me a blessing. If we can't help somebody as we sojourn here then we are not truly ambassadors for Christ. It is when we do the things that the Lord requires of us that we can then expect to receive some of the blessings that He has promised us as believers. He promised that he will never leave us nor forsake us so that we may boldly say the Lord is our helper and we will not fear what man shall do unto us.

He will help us in our times of discouragement, times of weakness. His grace is sufficient for us and his strength is made perfect in weakness. He promised us that weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. When we begin to receive and enjoy the blessings of the Lord, you know it's your morning time. The greater the test and trial the greater the blessing. Hold on and be encouraged because those times are for a season and are used to usher you into the deeper things of God.

Many of us have stayed in the shallow waters too long because we feel safer there but it's time to launch into the deep.It is there that the secret things of God await us and to experience it is sheer joy and a peace that passes all understanding. I'm standing on the promises of God. When the Lord makes a promise, he's not like man. He keeps his word.

He promised that no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. I don't know about you but I'm expecting some good things and because I'm expecting them I'm going to receive them. What about you?

My Soul Is Anchored in the Lord

Saturday, December 29, 2012

I awakened to hearing that song, originally sung by Douglas Miller, in my spirit. I looked up the lyrics and that song blessed me all day long. I love it when the Lord ministers to me this way because He is letting me know that He sees and knows what's happening in my life. The spirit came to encourage me and that makes me feel so special and so loved.

Though the storms may keep on raging in my life, I have an anchor in Christ Jesus. Because He is my anchor, I can draw from the scripture in I Corinthians 15:58 - "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."

This was a blessing to me to be able to exit 2012 and start off 2013 with such an encouraging and uplifting message. I'm excited about all the new places in Him that await me this year. I'm filled with much anticipation about the new thing that the Lord is doing in my life.

I'm happy to return to this blog because it is one of the things the spirit impressed upon me to resume. I endeavor that there not be such a big gap between posts, as was the case in the past.

I'm forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth to those things which are before. I'm pressing forward and closer to fulfilling my destiny in the earth.

My soul has been anchored in the Lord.

Worship

I heard for the first time yesterday the worship song by William McDowell, "I Give Myself Away." That song has been lingering in my spirit ever since. I am a worshiper and love to "enter in" because it is my refuge, my hiding place. To appreciate true worship is to bask in His presence and long to stay there as long as humanly possible before having to return to this earthly realm and continue our sojourn until there can be another close encounter in the throne room.

Psalm 16:11

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Hebrews 13:15

15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Gravitas

Gravitas: seriousness or sobriety, as of conduct or speech. During the course of today I heard that word in my spirit and thought about how we are living epistles read by men. Many people have never been to and may never enter a church but the church is not just a building. We, as believers, comprise the church and we have to make sure that we let our light so shine that men may see our good works and glorify our father in heaven. That means that we have to be mindful of what we say and do at all times.

1 Peter 5:7-9

7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion,

9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Symbiotic Relationships

I recall when the Lord spoke to me concerning the relationship I have with one of my closest and dearest friends. When the Lord spoke to me, He told me that ours was a symbiotic relationship: Mutually beneficial. I often thought ours was a lopsided friendship because I was in a storm and she was always pouring into me. I felt like I wasn't able to reciprocate as I desired. She would always tell me that as long as I was praying for her and her family, my prayers meant more to her than anything else. Oh, I was praying because that's what happens when you're in a storm. You stay on your face before the Lord and in the process God is enhancing your ministry. As my friend often reminded me, everything we go through is about ministry. You may think it's about you but it never is. It's always about Him.

That was why the Lord said we had a symbiotic relationship. And so it goes. As believers in this life, there are going to be times when you'll be the encourager, the strength and vessel used to see an individual through hard places. Then life's unexpected twists and turns will once again have you be the recipient of someone interceding on your behalf for undeniable victory in another hard fought battle waged by the enemy of your soul. I'm thankful that God placed my intercessory friend in my life when he did and the benefits have been a demonstration of what happens when God orchestrates for us behind the scenes.
